Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. She has performed on Broadway as well as in the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. While she now lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began in the church, where she sang as well as played piano. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training on Atlanta's R&B scene. The band was hired as the main keyboardist of Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as Choral Director of Dreamgirls which was a stage production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became the focus of notice during the four performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
